Good American Barber Co. is a barbershop preserving barber traditions and a hub for a community. We take pride in calling ourselves a neighborhood barbershop: no frills, no fuzz just a good ol' haircut and shave. Since the beginning, barbershops have been sacred spaces where people connect, exchange ideas and just feel good about themselves. So come on in and feel what it's like to be a neighborhood shop.

Hi I'm Maira I have a deep love for barbering which makes me continue to work on my craft.I've been a barber for 14 years.Through those years I've learned the importance on the history and traditions of barbering which is why starting Good American Barber Co. was important for me to have touches of the past in the shop. When I'm not working I love spending time with my family, collecting barber antiques and traveling.

Hello my name is German! I started my barbering career 18 years ago, working in Honduras. I moved to America 3 years ago with my beautiful wife and 2 daughters and son in hopes to give them a better life. When I'm not working i go to church on Sundays or I watch soccer; my favorite sport.

I've been cutting hair for over 10 years now and love every bit of what I do. I specialize in all types of men's, kid's and kid's with special needs hair cuts. I work at Good American because I love what I do. I'm very passionate in my craft and continue to perfect my skill and educate myself with the newest trends. Not only will you get amazing haircut but also great conversation and a relaxing experience in my chair. They say when you look good you feel good and that's my biggest goal. I’ve been in the hair industry for over 12 years, and for the last 8, I’ve focused on men’s cuts and styles. I love what I do—whether it’s a fresh fade, a classic cut, or something a little different. I also really enjoy working with kids and making their haircut experience fun and easy.
Right now, I’m also in school studying elementary education, so I stay pretty busy! When I’m not cutting hair or doing schoolwork, I’m usually spending time with my two cats and loved ones, going to concerts, painting, writing, or gaming. If you’re looking for a great haircut and some good conversation, come grab a seat in my chair—we can nerd out and talk about life.

Hello name is Doug. I'm a Marine Corps veteran. I got interested in barbering while I was deployed to Afghanistan. I've lived in the McHenry county area my whole life. In my free time I like to golf and spend time with my family.
So glad to find a true barbershop. The personnel are polite and very professional. The shop is clean and well kept, I recommend this bardershop and will continue to use them

We has a fantastic first time! My 5yr old was nervous prior to the appointment but within the first few minutes he was completely calm and comfortable thanks to Maira and the adorable shop dog Finn. The haircut turned out great! Overall we had a great visit! Highly recommend!!!!

We found Skye by just googling reviews for best barbers in Lake County area, specifically Grayslake, IL. I am so glad we
did !!! Since our first visit with Skye, she was amazing! I can see why she had so many great reviews! The most important
part was to find someone who cut kids and men's hair, she nailed it all !! We have a 4 year old son and he instantly just
loved seeing her! Skye was patient, sweet and understanding. Now we make it a visit every 6 weeks. So glad we found

Appointments Policy
You can cancel and change your booking service up to 2 hours in advance of your visit with no extra charge. There is a 10 minute grace period. Anything after 10 minutes will be considered as a no-show/missed appointment. If you fail to adhere to the cancelation policy as stated under terms and conditions the business has thee right to charge you the balance of your booking amount left to pay
